Was so awesome. I spent a whole weekend with the most incredible group of bass educators and players. It seemed like . I got to have lessons with the like of Diana Gannett, David Murray, Rufus Reid and others. Performed for Peter Dominguez and Inez Wyrick. Ate lunch with Richard Davis and talked gadgets with Donovan Stokes. Overall a really great and priceless experience and I would say any one interested in the camp should come, there was a three-year old bassist and a fourteen-year old bassist who started coming when he was three. The blending of age, experience, talent, jazz and classical, and social background made for a really great weekend. I cant wait til April 10th next year.

One of my really good friends used to study with Richard Davis at UW Madison, and from the stories I have heard, he is apparently a herculean paragon of all that is awesome. Apparently one time he took the bass studio out for pizza and beer and imparted life-lesson wisdom-stories and called it the week's masterclass. I get kinda jealous, not gonna lie.

Yeah, being from madison and all and have two faculty parents I never thought I would consider UW, but now after being around him a little bit and seeing how he operates as a teacher, the idea is creeping into my mind, more and more. I still have quite a while to decide though.
