mmm South Park.. OK.. Forgot about that..
but still thats not gonna get ya to $45 Million. Some of my associates write for some major TV productions on TV each week.. They have money but not $45 million type money.

You've got to figure, though, that South Park has been a big deal for 10+ years and the theme song is there on every episode. It's not just a background score or anything like that. You've also got strong DVD sales, which you don't really get with other shows that have run as long (like Law & Order or something like that). He probably gets another bump from DVD sales of Robot Chicken, too.

It's probably like a smaller version of Danny Elfman's Simpsons income.

Tens of thousands more, all of whom could teach Ringo a thing or two. He's just not what I would call a superior drummer. I've played in bands with drummers much better than Ringo.

I heard a quote (attributed to Lennon, but who knows if it's true), when asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world, replied, "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles."

Steve Harris has to be up there. Ok, so he isn't in the Macca league but I wouldn't mind taking a long shot bet that royalties on Iron Maiden's back catalogue and merchandising outstrip Sting's.

Anybody who knows anything about Iron Maiden knows that it is really the Steve Harris band and, along with Ron Smallwood, Steve has always been part not only of the big commercial decisions but also of taking the biggest share of the booty.

I get the fun of using websites like celebritynetworth.com but they are famously inaccurate. If we were ever able to get an accurate list of the richest bass players in the world I would be astonished if he wasn't in the top 5.

I agree; that can't be accurate. Geddy Lee worth slightly more than half of what Les Claypool is worth? It's just not possible is it? Adam Clayton with half as much money as Sting? As my son likes to say, I call balls on that list...

And yet he continued to use Ringo on post Beatle work...not denying he said it, Lennon was famous for his caustic remarks. But Ringo isn't about technical chops, he's about feel. The best drummers I know love him. Keith Moon wasn't technically great in the classic sense either, but there's a tension in his playing that is absolutely essential to the way the Who sound. Same goes for Ringo, I can't imagine the Beatles without him. I think he's great!
