Rickenbacker 4001/3: Whats the first thing that comes to mind?

I guess I'm on the same page. Ricks are amazingly cool basses, but personally I can't find an application for them in my music or with my playing style. However, because I still love them, they'll always have a place in my heart as an iconic interdimensional melee weapon.

This from an absolutely unbiased owner of a 4003.

Seriously, like any very good to great quality bass, a Ricky sounds great in the hands of a skilled player.

So many great basses out there. The 4003 is simply one of many.
