Rickenbacker 4003 input jack problem! Help / advice please.

Rickenbacker 4003 input jack problem - I have a 1998 Rickenbacker 4003 fireglo. Lately my sound has been cutting out during rehearsal. Switched amps, switched cords, it's the bass. Took the strings off, unscrewed the faceplate. All looks fine. Loosened the (normal) input jack, pluggedin, hit the pickups while jiggling the jack. It's the jack. All wires are tight. I don't get it. Do jacks go bad? Too many damn wires going in to it for me to try a resolder / replace. Anyone else ever have this problem? Appreciate any advice!

Yes.

It's also a switching jack, and the other is a stereo jack.

it could be the 3-way switch. mine would go out intermittently and when I checked, one of the leads needed to be soldered to the terminal.
