Rickenbacker 4003 switching jack

Change the existing jack Invalid Link Removed

I’ve successfully used these in Telecaster style basses and guitars and to replace football plate style jacks mounts as well and never had another problem. Install a new Switchcraft jack at same time and you’re set. No more issues.
This won't work on a Rick unless you feel like losing your serialized jack plate, and leaving its 4 exposed screw holes visible. I've never cared for these jacks, and they are the hardest part of building a harness for Rick's with dual outputs. Part of the problem is the tight...jack hole..lol. Part of it is the way it's built using heatshrink on two external terminals. I use the heatshrink on the two inner terminals, then compress then as much as possible so they'll fit better. You must use the 3 supplied lock washers to push the jack further in toward the control cavity. I like building harnesses using the easy fitting dual stereo jacks that are switchable to mono with a push-pull control. The stock harness can also be modded with dual mono outputs wired in parallel if desired.

Attributed a problem with plugging into the jack an operator error?
What? Do they think you don’t have opposable thumbs?

How about design error, or poor build quality!
That’d be the last straw for me with that outfit.
agreed. to say you don't know how to plug your cable into the bass is insulting. more likely it's because their QC people are stoned half the time.
