Hey Betyouaint, how about sharing the 3d-drawing for the trussrod-cover? Or start a trussrod-cover-business? I'd love to have a Hilckenbacker trussrod-cover for mine!!

Where did he get the "R" tailpiece? I thought you had to have a serial # to get a replacement.

When I originally started by build I managed to bag a brand new R-tailpiece from ebay. I later sold it along with the toaster pickups when I thought my project was dead. Luckily, I held on to the bridges I had, a 4 string and a 12 string. I've never seen a suitable 4005 bridge for sale anywhere.

Last weekend I had to pull my "M" tailpiece as my chrome job was too lightweight and the steel base had started to corrode through. I always intended my attempt to be temporary with the promise of getting it done properly later down the line. However, for now I have cleaned it up, re-coppered it and re-chromed (copy chrome) it. That gave me the chance to take a few extra pictures of the flip-side for anyone who's interested...

Here's the kit I used. Cheap and fairly easy to use but you can't apply the copy chrome to steel, hence the base layer of copper plate.
