Rickenbacker Cheyenne 4004?

It's a fantastic bass but I can sound like a hack just as well on a bass worth 1/10th of the LK.

Since my last post in this thread, I finally recieved my 4004Cii, about a year ago. It was a 26 month wait, and worth every min. I'm actually considering selling my 4003, since the Cheyenne has become my #1. Fantastic bass, in every sense and detail. And, I've been playing 4001's and 4003's since the late 70's. The 4004 has opened my eyes, and completely changed how I feel about Ric basses. Yeah, they're hard to find, but if you find one, grab it. Just fantastic.

There's a store about 30 minutes (without traffic) outside of DC that has 4 or 5 of these. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] in Gainesville. I played the mapleglo one for about a half hour a few weeks ago. They're beautiful basses.

Cool. PS: I've made money on basses quite often. Doubled my money in 10 years on one bass, but I get your drift. I doubt you'll sway anyone on this site tho. We're all junkies in this place, Lol! Good luck!
