Rickenbacker Issues

Take it and get the wiring sorted out. You may even want the .47 cap removed to give you more punch in the low end.

A Rickenbacker 4001 is too nice an instrument to not have working properly.

The wiring inside is all perfect, i had taken it in to have it sorted and was given it back saying it was fine, didnt charge me for anything.

It also doesnt have the capacitor inside, its a 4003 later model without the capacitor. I opened it up myself to look for it when (earlier in the thread) i was trying to find out if it was a 4001 or 4003.

the serial number will tell you week number or month and year of manufacture.
Look on the jackplate. numbers between top 2 screws, more between bottom 2.

then go to rick website and then the service menu. this has serial number decoder and scematics, and some other stuff you may find useful.

My rick is Loud for a passive bass.

I know, i did that.... ? its in an earlier post. i just didnt know if it was a 4001 or 4003, i knew the year etc

Strange. It sure sounds like a wiring problem to me.
