I have recently purchased a new Rickenbacker 4003. I have loved it since the moment i picket it up, and all of my bandmates share my enthusiasm for it. Earlier today, i was changing strings. I was getting rid of the Rickenbacker stock strings and putting on a set of D'addario chromes. I was putting on the chromes when, SNAP. The nut breaks off. Pictures are attached below. I haven't even owned the thing for more than a month and this happens. Nothing even remotely similar to this has happened to me before, and i have absolutely no idea what to do. I have two shows this weekend and would like it to be repaired by then, if at all possible.

You are right, it was an incredibly easy fix. I guess my reaction to my Rickenbacker being in danger is to completely loose my f***ing mind. I think that the nut popped off because the slot for the D string was not wide enough for the chromes. Since the slot wasn't wide enough, it pushed the nut out of its place. I fixed that with a file, and now i am good to go.
