I just got my 5th 4004,and am going to try leaving the wiring stock for comparison.
For some reason,it doesn’t sound at all murky like my 2 cheyennes did before i changed out the pots.
My other 4004s all have modded wiring setups VVT,MV pan tone,or 2 vol 2tone,plus full size toggle.
After i had Dane wire the Laredo 4000V63 with just the one vol,one tone,and full size toggle,i realized i really liked that format,and it gave me 3 very distinct sounds.
Sometimes less is more....and as the owner of a 4000,i am unanimous in that!
