You're standing on the ground floor of a three story building next to a wall on which are three light switches. There is a lamp on the third floor in a windowless room that is controlled by ONE of the three switches. Your life depends on your ability to determine which switch controls the lamp. You're allowed to flip each switch on and off as many times as you like. However, you're only allowed to go upstairs to check the lamp ONE TIME. How do you determine which switch controls the lamp?
Step outside to check through a window to see if it is on or not. The second part of it, I'm still thinking... Wait, that's it. Yeah, that's my answer.
First check for dead wires (ie, that don't lead anywhere). Then hit all three switches, one at at a time. The one that doesn't do anything must be the lamp.
There is 3 switches and 3 floors. Flick all the switches until the light on the floor you are on (1) goes out. This is not the swtich. Flick either of the two remaining switches. goto the third floor. If the light is on you know that you have the correct switch - its the one u pressed. if the light on the third is off then its obviously the remsining switch that controlls the light. am i clever or what?
Unfortunately, none of the switches controls the lights on the floor you're on... Sorry, you're dead..
I flick all the switches, go up to see if the light is on, if it's on... score! .. if it's not, I put all the switches back... score! easy!
HEY!! This is MY thread.. Go start your own!! But, to answer your queston: What gets bigger the more you take from it.. Answer: A hole
Let's see... you posted: Hmmmm.. but how are you going to be able to tell whether or not anything happens with out going up and looking? You can only do that one time... There is a simple logical way to solve it without having to crawl through heating ducts or rip out walls to check for dead wires.. Try again...
LOL!!! Unfortunately the only J bass you have has been expertly shielded and has "Noiseless" pickups in it..
You turn one switch on for 10 minutes then turn it off. You turn a second switch on and leave it on. You then go to the room on the third floor. If the bulb is off and warm it's the first switch, if the bulb is on it's the second switch, if it is cold and dark it's the third switch.
