Ring modulation anyone?

I am going to pick Ring Mod in a week or two. I was very interested in Randy, but as I understand correctly, it offers much smaller frequency than Moogerfooger. I even read Randy's user opinion that it's great but freq range could have been wider. So I'd go rahter with Moog myself.

Randy goes here for 300€. Moog is a little bit cheaper + you can buy used one on evilBay.

If you're looking for something cheaper, then Copilot FX Android is your way.

Damn, that actually tempts me further toward getting a Randy's Revenge someday. The only usable frequency range on my Blue Ringer is between noon and 3 o'clock really. Makes dialing things in a bit difficult at times.

I mean, we are dealing with bass guitars here, not full 8 octave synths. :smug:

I have 3 rings mods. A frostwave blue ringer, ehx freq analyzer, and a copilot android. I'd say the blue ringer is the best sounding but is the hardest to dial in, has a crap footswitch location, and would be the worst in a live context without a looper switch. The copilot is great and has great flexibility and it fairly inexpensive. To me for some reason, the ehx (trapezoidal) freq analyzer is super rad and a fairly underrated pedal. Besides its large size I'd probly says it a clear winner. Flexible, cheap, and it sounds great. I can elaborate more if ya'd like.

Don't make my choices more difficult ;)

Can anyone check in Blue Ringer's manual freq range, please?

I hadn't seen those before, that might be worth looking at since I'm probably not going to find a blue ringer any time soon. I bet it could have the range changed fairly easily if it really needed it.

That's Pretty much right on. Randy has the LPF to trim some highs off of the modulated signal, probably as another way to tame some of the weird sounding highs that can result. The moogs LFO looks like it modulates the oscillator that is used to change your input signal.

Sorry for the double post, but would anyone with a blue ringer be able to tell me what the inputs/outs on the blue ringer are?

I think there's two inputs, a CV for the internal oscillator, and an output... but the picture's I'm seeing look like there's one more back there and I can't find a clear enough picture to read the labels.
