Same here, sad day. Became instant convert from the Woodstock film, and I saw them about a year or two later at the Capitol Theater in Portchester, Ny. Great venue, great show. Cricklewood Green played at least ten thousand times on my early cassette player in my car back then. My Sunday jam group has worked up "I'd Love To Change The World" a few times.....

Sad to see ya go, Mr. Lee.

I saw them at that venue just a couple of months after Woodstock, it was my first real rock concert. A great lifetime memory, for sure.

I saw them there in August 1970. Cactus opened (ugh they were horrible....) Apparently TYA also played there several months earlier, that's probably the one that you saw.

I heard about this yesterday at work...it's very saddening. Alvin Lee made some incredible music, and people will always remember that.

Yep, appears to have been in early April 1970. I saw them a few months later at the Strawberry Fields Festival in Canada too. They were a real class act, I'm going to call one of their tunes next Monday at open mike if no one beats me to it.

Loved and saw Ten Years After when I was a kid! They were doing Woody Herman material in '68, great band!

Did they ever share the same bill?
The Fillmore East thrived on such "odd" shows.

Thought a little about the ol' daze-
Alvin Lee (at least around here in SE VA during the early '70s) never really got his due. IIRC, the argument was always over Clapton-Beck-Page...every blue moon, someone would mention Lee...that his licks were like minature solos...and everyone would say "Oh, yeah".
