My older brother, Charles Burt Holder III, AKA "Chuck", passed away early Sunday morning after a long struggle with emphysema. He lived in Tuscon most recently, but was musically active (and somewhat well-known) in the Phoenix area from the late 70s through the 20teens, only giving it up when illness and health issues made it impossible. His bands included the Hoods, Grant and the Geezers which toured in England, Hellfire, Fifi and the Hellhounds, Oh Hell No!, and The Brand. A favorite memory was opening for Taj Mahal. He also worked in sound engineering, recording Meat Puppets, Stevie Nicks and others, including meeting Melanie Griffith. Chuck was predeceased by his parents and sister Teresa Holder Martinson. He is survived by wife and Angel of Mercy Bethany as well as adored step daughter, Carissa Robbins-White, siblings Carla Holder, Mary Elkind, and William Holder, as well as nieces Julia, Elizabeth, and Allison Elkind, Katharine Martinson Blair (Max), and Amanda Martinson Roche (Devon) with grandnephew Landon Roche. Chuck donated his body for research. No memorial service is scheduled at this time.

Journey well, brother. It was time. Glad you found relief at the end...
