You may not have liked the New York Dolls but this guy had talent. I think he sang "Killin Floor" almost as good as Wolf "almost". Godspeed my brother.

I remember when the Dolls emerged, quite a few of the people I knew hated them, but these were the kind that took everything too seriously, they just didn’t get it, no sense of humor. That just prompted me to get into the band even more, plus I was already on the VU, Bowie, and Roxy tip.
Got to see him in Austin in the early 80’s, when he was riding high with that Animals medley on radio. He’s free now.

I was in my first real band at the time the New York Dolls hit the scene. Some of our contemporaries in our local music community thought they were silly. We thought they were the greatest thing to come along in a while, as far as entertainment and fun

Worked with him when he was at the Ogden here in Denver. He crowd surfed from the stage to the bar to do shots. I had a 100 ft. mic cable ready to go for him. Was a great show!

Very sad. Although we expected it any day, it’s still a punch in the gut. I spent hundreds of hours listening to their songs.

I bought the Dolls first album almost as soon as it dropped. I read alot alot of Circus magazine and Creem and Crawdaddy etc.
I bought their 2nd album out of the cut-out rack.
Always had mad props for the Dolls..
