NBC reports he died of emphysema this morning...
I was just reading about him writing Letterman jokes the other day.
Bummer man... RIP
I have to say it...
i used to love watching johnny, ed and doc
His voice lulled me to sleep many a restless night! Late night tv wasn't the same without him.
What a shame
Johnny Carson was always such a gentleman, and a perfect host - never upstaging his guests, and always making them feel so at ease on his show. His imitators have always fallen a long way short of the original - such a lovely man! RIP
johnny carson having a big band on his show has done a lot for America, at least it changed me
The consumate professional entertainer. We need more like him. RIP Johnny.
A legend and a gentleman...RIP.
Wonder how many people realize he was a DRUMMER?
And not a bad one either. There is video (somewhere) of him doing drum battles with guys like Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa.
Heard about Johnny on the news just recently .
There was mention that in private life, Johnny was never very comfortable with fame. I did not know this .
One of my favorite Carson skits was "Carnac, the Magnificent" http://www.joke-archives.com/oddsends/carnac.html
................. RIP Johnny.
A huge part of my life........ used to watch his monologue every night before bed.
Awww...man. The guy was class in a blazer.
A legend of TV has passed away.
A class act, all the way. Very sad, indeed.
Too Bad, He was a classy guy.
RIP Johnny Carson.
RIP Johhny, not only a great man of late night tv, but also of life.
