RIP Juan Nelson

sad to hear, another talent taken too young. I can say with tongue firmly in cheek that he subbed for me once in a 'Staxx based cover band in San Diego area...guitarist bandleader met him somewhere (this was the period he was out of BH band), needed a sub for me (LOL)...I'd love to have heard the circles he played around me interpreting those classic songs. And we played Steal My Kisses...
Rest in Peace, Sir
MJ

RIP Juan.

This is what turned me on to his playing the most:

Really classy, smart, economical playing. And a voice like Isaac Hayes.

I'm ashamed to admit that I was completely unaware of him (all of Ben Harper's work that I'm familiar with, predates Juan's involvement). It's sad that it's taken such tragedy to bring his wonderful work to my attention, but I will be looking much deeper into his back catalogue.

R.I.P.

Such a badass and an important part of Ben Harper's success in my opinion. Amazing groove without losing the song. Plus, giving bar-band bassists in the 90's a cool song to add to their set list with 'Steal My Kisses', woman loved dancing to that song!
Fly on Juan.........................................................
