I met him years ago walking down the street in Manhattan. He was completely cordial. Shook my hand and thanked me when I told him how much of a fan I was. I'm so sad now.

Same here. Coincidentally, I've been re-watching the original series on Netflix, and reading about the making of the first season in the book These are the Voyages, volume 1.

Spent the better part of my childhood watching Nimoy and Shatner battling all the scary aliens and evil space marauders. The (Star Trek) show was a bit campy, even for its time, but it just made for more fun.

A very sad day for Trekkies everywhere.

RIP Leonard Nimoy. You didn't know it back in the early days but you made an indelible impression on millions of people and had a major influence on pop culture. Your brilliant work will live on for generations to come.

What?? R.I.P Spock. I wonder where his transferred his katra too and if somebody is trying to get him back to Vulcan to save him.

I always got a kick out of this commercial where new Spock meets old Spock.
