Just wanted to share the word. I was contacted by Richards' family and informed that Richard had passed yesterday morning 12/18/17. They are planning a Memorial and Celebration of Life for Richard to coincide with NAMM 2018. Truly a sad day for me.

What a wonderful, man, bassist, innovator and friend. Richard Ruse changed my life as a bassist after meeting him at a gig in LA. He was warm and friendly as if we were old friends. He invited me to his showroom/garage at his home, where my mind was blown. I tried amps and cabs. I bought the Bullhead 1K. I still may have to get 2 of the vertical 2x10 cabinets. I've been blessed with his friendship and genius.

Not only did he create my favorite bass amp of my life, he was a bada$$ mofo bassist = intimidating. I've played for 50 years, had great touring and recording gigs, played NY and LA venues loaded with players, but 1 on 1, face-to-face with him was nerve racking, that's how damn good he was. I've studied with "major cats", (Max Bennett, Joel DiBartolo, Dann Glenn) in LA and this guy got to me.

I'm honored to have had the time with him and to own an amp. Richard Ruse, my friend, you live on.

I got to know Richard talking over the phone. The conversations we had covered a wide range of topics. He was a tremendous conversationist and clearly highly intelligent. I can only imagine what his family and his co-workers are going through as they try to process such a sudden loss.
