RIP Steve McNair

So Steve was currently married and having an affair with the 20 year old? Or was the 20 year old his wife? If the 20 year old was a mistress, I guess she didn't know he was married.

Either way his kids now have a tough row to hoe in life.

God Bless the kids, Ray

If this pans out the way it is looking, McNair clearly made a horrible decision to get involved with Ms. Kazemi. That said, criticizing his morals is the easy way out. As a man who has lived a few years, and has seen some changes in my life, I can honestly say that for a man like McNair, the impetus for this relationship was probably not sex alone. If McNair had been a skirt chaser, issues with women would have popped up years ago. Not knowing the man, I say it looks like a man going through a mid-life crisis. He was out of football for the first time in his life, and he probably felt like a fish out of water. Getting involved a with a young woman from a different background was probably a distraction that he couldn't resist given the changes in his life.

For Ms. Kazemi, getting the attention and money of a former NFL quaterback was probably one heck of a high and ego boost. Unfortunately for both of them, this was a situation that simply could not go on.:(

As a resident of Nashville, I never thought we'd get a pro football team. I'd always rooted for the Pack, but then the Oilers/Titans came to town and had these 2 players named Steve McNair and Eddie George that exemplified what football was all about. They were both tough as nails and humble as pie. They played for the team and not themselves. I still remember the heart Steve played with in the 2nd half of Super Bowl 34, when 2 extra yards would have changed the outcome of the game. I hated when he was unable to retire as a Titan (especially because he went to the hated Ravens), but that's the NFL now days. We were the same age and I just can't believe that one of my heroes was murdered like that.

I'm done with this story. I loved "Air McNair" as a player. I really don't want to know what parts of his body were shot, how many times he was shot, and what kind of gun was used. I don't want to learn of his affair or family problems he may have been having.

Thank you Steve for over 13 years of exciting football in college and the NFL. You beat my Steelers 12 times, so I'll never forgive you for that though. :D

Slightly off topic, but McNair's death really hammers home a point about knowing yourself. Some men are players, they just know how to pick up women, and how to deal with them in affairs.

I think an experienced ladies man probably would never have dealt with Kazemi, and certainly wouldn't have allegedly told her he was about to get a divorce or lead her on in any way. He would have laid out the ground rules of the affair, and she would have taken them or moved on. The old saying that "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned," was not coined for nothing.:hiding:

I remember when he came out of college, I was hoping that my Saints would pick him, and being highly disappointed when they passed on him.

Even though he played for teams that I personally did not root for, I always respected him as a player and a person. He seemed to be a throwback player, a true tough guy that loved the game and put his whole heart into every play, but never gloated when he won, nor failed to acknowledge when he or his team had been outplayed.

I will do everything I can to remember him as the class act on the field and off of it that he was before this happened.

Truly a sad thing for all professional football fans.

:(

Eventhough all of the facts have yet to be released and/or discovered, the tragic death of Steve McNair is another painful reminder that some bad choices can result in dire consequences.

My prayers go out to the McNair family during this very difficult time in their lives.

ESPN is reporting that McNair was haing trouble adapting to retirement. That is just what I felt might be the case. I guess McNair's death hit me hard because I can see how such a transistion could leave a person without a foundation and susceptible to really poor decisions.:(

I just read that the Kazemi/McNair death was officially ruled a murder/suicide. It turns out that McNair was "cheating" on Kazemi with yet another young girl.:rollno:

Man, I feel so sorry for his wife. She is stuck with having to bury him and raise his kids.:scowl:

Although she was murderer, I feel sorry for Kazemi. I just hope I can raise my daughters to watch out for older men with money and a smooth game.
