Man, this one deserves to be quoted again and again...! I absolutely love the Anniversary basses! :eek:

Seeing them always makes me start thinking I'd want one of those instead of the custom I have on order - but then again, mine will be absolutely AMAZING as well :p:D

I must admit, though, when I saw the Fire Burl from the latest NAMM batch, I bit my lip... hard.

I think it's a great idea, but it should be optional, of course. Some may not feel like sharing - although it's normally pretty easy to find the serial if the bass is in the History & Owners album on the Ritter homepage ;)

By the way, I guess this would be a great place to talk about my custom Ritter build, there may be a few interested readers here :p

This is my first custom bass order, and it will be a Ritter Roya 5. I will post some pics as soon as I succeed in having Jens take some for me, I have waited for them since February... Well, for now, let's have the specs:

Model: Roya 5, fretted.
Body: Purpleheart with birdseye maple top (matching headstock).
Neck: 3-piece maple.
Fretboard: Purple Kingwood (like the Platinum Concept!)
Pickups: Ritter triplebuckers.
PU covers: Purple Kingwood.
Finish: High gloss.
Hardware: Gold.

Everything else as a standard Roya 5 (35" scale, etc).

I can't wait...! It should have been finished for the Frankfurt Musikmesse, as Jens wanted to bring it there, but I haven't been able to pull a coherent line out of him since February regarding the progress, except that it wasn't finished in time for Frankfurt.

I e-mailed him again last week pushing for an update, but still no reply... I'm going out of my mind here...! :atoz:

Anyway, what do you guys think...? Is it going to be killer or what?? :hyper:

Sounds like a very unique looking bass! I'm sure it will be stunning. From a builders point of view though don't push to hard. Many things are going on with Jens building and getting ready for NAMM. If he stopped to take pictures of everyones bass he would never get anything done. Generally when your really busy if you do take pictures its when most basses are at a point so you can do it at one time. If you had to always stop and snap pictures you would spend a day taking things down, laying them out, taking pictures, putting them back up. Uploading the pictures, editing the pictures and then sending e-mails...................

The excitement is part of the fun. Trust me, if you had the pictures already you would be wanting something else in a week to see what else is done .... LOL ..

I absolutely agree most of the way, don't get me wrong - and I'd much rather have my bass delayed than anything rushed, that's for sure...! :)

It's just that when Jens tells me he will do things within a certain deadline and doesn't do it or give me any updates at all, it just takes some of the fun out of the waiting :hmm:

Right now it would be nice to know when the bass can be finished, since I didn't get a new deadline after Frankfurt, but he hasn't replied to my e-mails for quite some time now.

Alright, I come off more negative than I am, I AM really looking forward to this great bass, and when I've talked to Jens on the phone he has been a really nice guy, and I won't blame him for being busy. I'm sure I'll hear from him soon :)

I understand and I wasn't trying to come off in an ugly way either, just explaining.

Builders and deadlines.. WOW, thats a tough one though. I guess there are so many variables that come into play and generally they are tough to meet. However know one ever says anything when they get their bass early. I guess its like you always hear the bad things but never the good things... LOL

Anyway, very sorry for your wait. I always have a bass being built by someone for myself. Getting pictures is always fun, I ask too... heck I just asked Jens for a Pic of the unfinished Jupitor, but it had already shipped for finishing. Clarify, I didn't ask before though so he wasn't suppose to send me anything. But the excitement of the build is always fun!

Look forward to seeing the finished Bass!
