Ritter vs. elrick

I own 2 Ritters, and I hope to never part with them. On the other hand, I've never had the opportunity to play an Elrick, so I can't give you any useful advise here.

I've owned both (Ritter Classic 5, Elrick Platinum Classic 5) and liked the Ritter *way* more. No comparison to me...I just didn't like the way the Elrick sounded. Maybe mine was a lemon?
An Elrick is an Elrick and a Ritter is a Ritter. Hard to say either is better because both are pretty unique.
when you say ritter is rediculous is that in a good way or are you suggesting i go with an elrick?
Sometimes you want a bass that's extremely ridiculous and outrageous. That's kinda the point. They're not built for traditional looks.
If I had to choose, I'd go for a Ritter. Not much reasoning behind that; I just like the look of them more
Yeah, I agree with everyone! This makes sense if you think about it. These are kind of apples and oranges looks wise, and similar options in terms of electronics, woods and other customization are available for both. This is a beautiful dilemna to have.
If you have that kind of money and are serious about dropping coin on an unknown bass, you best be checking things out for yourself.
-obviously i will ....but part of making a big purchase like this is doing my homework and research....and that is why im here getting everyones opinions
Both Elrick and Ritter make great basses. I've not owned an Elrick but I've played a few and at the end of the day there is a difference IMHO, apart from the obvious price difference that is.
However, as I don't think you can really do a direct comparison between the two, I'd go with spade2you's recommendation and check things out yourself.
You don't say where you are located (always a useful bit of info in your profile!) but there are some nice used Elricks out there right now. What's your price range?

Still, they're totally different basses. Doing homework is asking about neck profiles, certain electronics, etc. I'm thinking you want something cool, but don't really have an idea of what you want since you're asking for what's "better" in an apples vs. oranges debate. Naturally, people who like apples don't vote for the orange.
