I just found one of these on craigslist for $175. Sounds like a good deal to me. Anyone have one of these and want to help talk me into getting it?? I really don't need much of a push either lol. But I am looking to get some info on it. I can't find anything about it really. The only thing the guy knows about it is that it has 2 15s in it and its 8 ohms.

Road Electronics 2x15 cab

If the speakers are good, its a good deal.
If one or more is gone, then it is more or less a money pit made of plywood.

Road made great gear.
People that have them tend to keep them as they have little brand recognition and pretty much fetch pennies.
They were created by Bud Ross of Kustom, but, (IMO) Surpass the T'N'R Kustoms by leaps and bounds.
I would make a firm comparison to vintage Acoustic.
I have had a Road 440 & Road 412 at 2 different points.
That amp and cab were some of the best that I've laid my hands on & I have had lots of gear ranging from Ampeg, Sunn, Fender, Acoustic, Kustom, Road, GK, Hiwatt, and many many more.
I firmly believe ROAD should fetch more or be at least equal to Sunn.
I had the 440 serviced one time and the Tech was amazed at the clean job on the inside of the amp. Mine was a mid 70's model and looked as if it just came off the line.
I had toured with it for years through an Ampeg 810E and put it through it's fair share of abuse and it just kept kicking.
I'm still kicking myself over selling that beast...

My main rig is a Sound City L200 on top of a ROAD 4x12 cab. This cab sounds amazing. Crisp clear, but with tons of low end and definition. I would love to have a 2x15 ROAD. Buy it, it's built like a tank and should last forever.
Thanks for the help everyone! hopefully the guy still has it when I get paid friday. At that price I don't think I can pass it up. I'm using an ampeg v4, I'm guessing that cab can handle it??
I'm sure it will be fine, the V4 is a very loud 100 tube watts.

I had to take a quick glance at the calendar to make sure I hadn't stepped into some timewarp back to 1974! I think it's been at least that long since I've heard of anyone using Sound City heads, much less ROAD cabs! I'm gettin' all nostalgic just thinking about it!
I never heard a ROAD 2x15, but I do remember them being built like the proverbial brick hitshouse.
I love that cabinet and would buy it myself! I used it with a V4B 30 years or so ago and sounded great!
