Road worn 50's P Bass

I haven't seen it discussed, but I wonder if the MIM has anything to do with California laws and the use of nitrocellulose.
The AQMD and CA Environmental laws have a lot to do with it. Each company basically purchases a permit to pollute and are restricted to its limits. Thou, they could purchase another company's unused credit, but that's another issue.

Also, FYI all Fender NECKS from MIM & MIA are made in the Corona plant in California. Yes ALL.

And, the RW is one of the best sounding P Bass made by Fender MIA, MIM, MIJ,MIK,MIC...etc Relic, shmelic if you play P Bass, the feel and tone of this is what you are looking for (no modding necessary). Only better is the AV 57/62, Pino Palladino, Tony Franklin fretted (thou P/J) and whatever comes out of the Custom Shop.

To be honest it was bought with this mod already in mind, whatever I bought that day would've got an extra P p/up.

UPDATE: Musician's Friend now has the Road Worn Precision listed at $999! That's a $200 price drop from initial release, right? Good news if you ask me! I've played the RW P-Bass and I quite liked it.

Now that I look at pics, I really prefer the red RW Jazz with the tort PG. Fender says both the Jazz and P are Fiesta Red (I've only seen Sunburst models) but is the P more pink or red?

I think the MIM 50s P is Fender's version of the non-relic. I know its poly, but other than that I think is is pretty much the same.

A Chimp and Human's DNA look pretty close on paper but in reality big difference. Don't get me wrong the 50's P is an excellent instrument but the RW is not just a 50's P that has been relic'd. It is a whole different animal under the skin.
