Roadworn

I ask because I have a very rare one of 15 limited custom shop bass and I have some finish chips from wear.
Is it depleted...or is it now cool cause it is roadworn.
I tend to think I f..d it up by chipping it but then here comes the its cool now cause it has a chip croud...not sure...lol

I took the neck off to adjust the truss rod and the nitro chiped on the south side of the neck pocket...do I fix it or call it cool now.?
Honestly it bothers the hell out of me but I don't want to make it worse by touching it up.
Thoughts

A topic that always needs to be treaded softly here on tb - IMO, your chip as described could be repaired, and if not would be considered a detriment to full value. If repaired well, it still should be pointed out but would affect the value less than if left. It wouldn't really be considered 'cool' or RW. Again, my opinion.

The point I bring up is if it was just a normal bass...what the hell....road worn..
But its not.
I play it every day but its a major collector piece being one of 15 made.
Do I leave it and chalk it up to mojo or touch it up to maintain its perfect collector piece. Mojo.
It would be a no brainer if it was a "normal" bass

There are people (professionals) who could make the imperfections/chips disappear. It would be a task to find the right person and rightfully expensive done correctly. (being nitro helps) That would be up to you and as stated, would still need to be disclosed if selling. As to how it would affect market value I have no idea. It's possible you could contact Gruhn to see how they determine such.

Ok, s--t happens, frankly - it's just a bass. Take a deep breath (take a few) and realize it's not the end of the world. If it is going to be an issue, then calmly address it. Like I said, there are people (possibly John Kallas here on tb) who will be qualified to repair it. Stress, if entertained, shortens life. ;)

A pristine collectible will always be worth more than something that shows wear. It's debatable whether if it is repaired it'll regain any of that lost value. A little chip might not affect the over all value that much anyway. Like Jio said if you call Gruhn about it's value now and if it's repaired they may give you a better idea of actual numbers.
