I got these from Rob today. The guitar is due by the end of April.
Absolutely incredible....probably one of the best Rob Allen's I've seen! Congrats.
Rob Allen basses always look incredible. I'd love to own one someday.
Yeah, I've read the discussions on terminology, and to me... it is part of the guitar family. But if everyone else wants to pretend that I said electric bass instead, that is fine with me.
Heck, classify it as a 5-String Fretless Chordophone for all I care!
That'll do it! Nice looking body (the bass, not yours). My MB-2 4-string should arrive within 3 weeks. I'll post the pic(s) if I can figure out how to do it. So far I've had no luck posting the preliminary photos he sent me via e-mail.
Woah! That sure made me snap to attention! Incredible.
Is that a solid body?
That looks like it's going to be one fine MB2. Congrats!
That's a right fine hunk o' wood!
Wow, that's a wild top! Should be killer when it's done!
Fretted or fretless?
Those Rob Allens sure do have a nice tone.
Oh boy....must resist. must resist......
That is going to be very fine.
No. It has two chambers.
Five string (BEADG)
short fret lines (1/4")
Burl Spalted Maple top
Bird's Eye Maple neck
22 fret positions
Piezoelectric bridge pickup
LaBella 760n tapewounds
And there's some bias setting for the electronics that you can access through the back that I don't ever plan on messing with. See Rob Allen's site for more info.
That's all I can think of.
