Robot Factory Pedal Repair - Inquiry

Hey guys,

I've tried emailing Mario about repairing a pedal and have not gotten a response. Just trying to see if anyone has had any contact with him recently. The pedal in question is a BassFuzz.com edition Robot Factory Tentacle Love. When I engage the pedal, the fuzz sounds a little bit fizzy then randomly it'll just kinda power off. If I give it a slight nudge with my foot it regains power. I scoped the insides and tried to find a loose wire but I couldn't find one. It also has never been improperly powered so I doubt anything has been blown. I have a friend that's a pedal builder so I'm sure I can drop it off with him but I just wanted to see if sending to Mario is still an option. Thanks guys!

It sounds like a loose/cracked solder joint, probably at a point that connects close to the housing, e.g. footswitch, dc jack, pots.

Mario has disappeared off the radar for extended periods in the past, but also he has shown back up after a while. Up to you how long you are willing to wait for him to resurface.

Sounds like a power problem of some kind; possibly the DC input jack isn't making good contact. If you're using a power adapter, try it with a battery and see if the problem is still there.

Any competent pedal builder should be able to help you with this.

Thanks guys. Crater, it can't be battery powered but I'll check out the connections and report back with my findings. I was just concerned because I know Mario is out of the loop and I wasn't sure if this was a difficult fix.
