http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001B156BA Wow. It has 2 "strum" bars so you can actually do I M I M ( or M I M I if it floats your boat) strumming, a la actual bass. I want this thing so bad now.
P Bass? Fail! Also, the fact that the volume knob controls the "whammy bar" function is apparently a bad move according to those who play RB. I just prefer to play a real bass and make real music!
+1000 I bet NASCAR drivers don't sit around and bash each other for playing Gran Turismo. I think this is kind of a cool idea. My kids and I love playing RB.
Back to the point of the thread, if this is one strum bar split at the middle, it doesn't make any sense to me... you can still do IMIM on a single bar ( or string) , right? Just don't see a benefit right off hand, maybe I just have to play it.
On a GH or RB controller, the strum bar is much more floppy than a real bass string, so when you try to use two fingers to strum it just doesn't work. It doesn't center itself fast enough to work well.
You know, I never played fishing video games either. EDIT: And if you're going to try and make the argument that oh well shooting games durp de durp de durp c'mon let's be reasonable. Wanna go shoot at each other in real life? I'm not selling drugs anymore, so this doesn't sound like a good time for me. EDIT #2: However, I did see a demo for this controller, and I am impressed. I'll be happy when they start playing real instruments. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_queer-o There are really people like that.
wow, did you draw that yourself?? As for the entire guitar hero/rock band/any other sort of big selling karaoke game placed on a system.......the whole guitar thing IMO is lame. It was lame the first time, got even lamer when it was popular, got lamest at the third game with all the hype, and now is beginning to die down. I understand the marketing, I just think it's not smart because once these games are overplayed to **** and the companies run out of ideas for more sequels, its' useless. The rhythm aspect is all it has going for it, because of it's exacting each note, but i think the game producers just find a way to make songs overcomplicated for the simplest of titles.
I love both games, and the controllers they come with. I don't need to buy a controller for $60 more that looks like a bass. Big deal. -Mike
speaking of which.......I'm considering getting GH for my wii since my family all has fun with it when my bro brings his 360 over or we play it on my sister's ps2. But lately I hear the controllers are fragile, one was so clunky I was afraid i was gonna break it. any good ones to look out for that don't break easy?
If the youth play these games instead of going into a garage, shame on them.:scowl: If these games inspire them to go into garages, salute to them! Me? I'd rather buy my bass a few sets of strings rather then a plastic 2-action strum-barred Fender P.
I don't think the op was bashing the game rock band, just the idea behind the overpriced controller, which I think is ridiculous, I could get some nice strings, maybe some pups.
