+1 on Trabens & Schecter Stilettos (although I'm selling my Schecter to fund a higher end bass) personally I'd get a Traben (love the unfinished necks) you could always try looking tho Dean's model's like the Sledgehammer, Edge Pro & Demonator might be up your street.

What Snakeman1066 says about the Rockfield pups and pre are true. This bass has a thunderous sound for the cash. If you want a good fiver in your price range, Traben are putting out some seriously killer sounding and looking basses these days. Check them out.
