You're probably right, Jimmy. There a club downtown that has a raised wooden stage that can be very boomy. The club provides Gramma Pads in an effort to mitigate the problem, but every time I've played there, I still had to cut the bass at my amp.
I'll tell you, before I learned the real story behind floor coupling, I used to try all sorts of things, and none of them worked except reducing bass response from the amp itself. Some peopel swear by Gramma pads, but they really don't work so well if you ask me. Putting a cab on casters works just as well, and that really doesn't work so well, either.
