I've had the 60 watt version for about 3 weeks now and wanted to express how pleased I am with this.

Previously I was playing through a little Fender Rumble and constantly trying this or that to overcome its limits.
Now I get a nice deep thick rich tone and that tone keeps me practicing. It has a lot of setings, bells and whistles, but that's all icing to the very nice depth of this little amp.

Makes a big difference if you're making a sound like you want to sound.
What really gets me is its a little louder through the speaker than it is through my studio reference headphones. Now that's some efficiency. And it records like a dream, no noise dead quiet -- all signal.

I totally agree. If you have the coin and space, having a great sounding practice setup is a major plus!

I also recently purchased a cube 60XL bass amp about 1 month ago, and agree that its just a great little amp with a great sound. Its not a brand that's commonly mentioned on these boards, but definitely worth checking out.

compares very favourably against the Fender Bronco 40 watt in the same price and feature bracket roughly

I would think the Fender Bronco 40 and Roland bass cubes would both have a market for studio recording -- maybe esp home studio recording
aside from practice amp function

and most of talkbass is about playing out live and the need to be heard in those situations--
