i mean when the fuzz pedal is operating or is on....typical amp or pedal input for a bass or guitar is 1meg, lots of old fuzz pedals only have 10k to 100k input impedance. so your bass or guitar pickups will lose high end frequency response ,or drop in volume or loose sustain. depends on the pickup. because a passive bass pickup wants to see a high impedance like 1meg not the 100k the fuzz provides.....
so a typical buffered bypass will usually have the proper 1meg input...so placing a buffered bypass pedal in front of the older fuzz pedal will improve the performance. even thou the buffered bypass pedal is just off. It is providing a active buffer for the fuzz pedal that follows. So when you have the fuzz pedal on it wont load down your pickups now, because their is a buffer in front of it....being provided by the buffered bypass pedal in front of it.
confused yet.......?
