Roland Club?

If my GP-8 is accepted, I would like a #.

I bought a used Roland Cube Bass 60 several years ago. I've used that little amp in several small gigs and for practice and it's fantastic!! I replaced the 12" with a Celestion a couple years ago. It handles low B with no problem. I've only had to run it on high volume in a few practices where we all got carried away! Unfortunately it's sick right now and I'm looking for someone to help me troubleshoot the cause. Hence, I joined TalkBass. :)

For those of you who may not know yet, Roland is supposed to discontinue the Dbass combos, the 115 and the 210. I always thought they were way overpriced, but, maybe Roland is going to get into the lightweight head/combo market ? Anyway, I still love my old DB700 combo !

I would love for Roland to come out with a bass preamp, based on the DB combos. I love my DB700 and have even toyed with the idea of taking it to my tech to see if he can remove the preamp section so I can use it with a poweramp.

They have in a way (we've had this conversation before). In the form of a floor unit. Effects and much else added at little extra charge. It's called the Boss GT-10B.

Yup, I remember that, but I hate floor units, and it's got way too many other options I would never use. I may just buy a used db 500 and see what my tech can do. If nothing else, it would be a good " around the house " combo, since I sold my B15N :bawl:

1) Put it up on your cab then ; }

and it's got way too many other options I would never use.

2) Don't use them then. Later you might find a feature or two more that's useful, but if you only use one small portion of units like these it's not like you are getting ripped off.

Really digging my DB500 I picked up here. I have had 2 in the past and stupidly sold them. Never again !! The compressor is too cool on these amps. I also use the footswitch as a mute and set one of the presets to not have any output.

Hey Greenboy,

Since you are the expert on all things loudspeaker - how do you feel about the Roland Feed Forward Processing technology?

Is it snake oil or outstanding innovation?

(btw, won't change my opinion of my amp, love it regardless of whether the technology they tout is actually doing anything)

Thanks!

I use a CB30 for practice. As a beginner, I like the amp simulation since I get to try several characteristic bass sounds in one box. Question is: How close are these to the originals?

Of course I don't expect a 30W 10" Transistor/Digital Combo to /really/ match an SVT with 810, for example, but does it get the sound colours right? Or should I better not go amp shopping based on the cube's sims ;)?

I have the newer Club 120 - pics to follow.

I GOT RID OF EVERYTHING ELSE - This is all I have now and luv it.

I want in and I have to change my sig line on clubs - 1 P Bass, 1 J Bass and the Roland.4

That's it now - I am free of all the madness ! ! !
