I think the nearest rink is 100 miles. I blade outdoors on bad streets and poor trails covered in grass clippings and goose cigars. I'm conflicted on traction vs longevity. I'm generally pushing a jogging stroller with about 50lbs of cargo/passenger. Makes for a GREAT workout, but traction can be a significant issue, particularly in the areas I'm forced to be on sidewalks. I try to avoid that situation, but there is one place where it is a bottleneck and the only safe spot is the sidewalk, but it opens up a later into some reasonable access points. On an 8 mile session, I figure about 2 miles might be decent road condition, the rest is hazard mitigation and tar avoidance.
Does anybody know if rollerblade brand wheels are decent? There is a set on the bay at a good price compared to dealers, but I don't want crappy wheels - and have no local source of info either. The dealers who list them say nothing about them, but go into great detail about the other wheels they sell.
Thanks guys for the info, it really helps.
