When my little buddy goes to kindergarten I may pick up a set of the street feet. We have a trail system in the country which is in fair condition, I've done it on blades a time or two, but it has a number of gravel road crossings. Those can really dump you if you aren't paying attention. These might be the perfect solution for getting there and rolling up some heavy mileage.
I've never been one of those guys who drives places to run or ride or whatever. I start at my house and just go. It's 4 miles to the trail head then another 35 miles of open trails from there. There are about 2.5 miles of trails from my house to the main trail but they really don't maintain them well and there are a number of train tracks as well.
I'll miss having my buddy along in a big way. He's good company and really adds resistance when he pops the top up on the stroller. Nothing like working hard, having your heart rate up in the upper 160 range and having a conversation with a 5 year old to tell you how fit you aren't!
