Rolling Stones at Prudential Center NJ 12/15/12

My future father in law scored some tickets through one of his clients so I ended up enjoying the evening for free. Probably the most memorable concert I'll ever attend. Pretty amazing to see legends still killing it on stage. I finally "understand" moves like Jagger! They had some great guests on stage - John Mayer (my highlight), Mick Taylor, Lady Gaga (odd), The Black Keys, Bruce Spingsteen, and maybe someone else I'm missing. I thought I saw a Two Rock and a Dumble SSS on stage, so I figured John was there. His amps sounded absolutely monstrous. Darryl Jones was rocking the bass that night and sounded great.

Gear-wise it was what I expected:

Keith: vintage Tele's, 335's, and a TV yellow LP Jr. through exploding Fender tweeds.

Ronnie: his sig. ESP Tele, some futuristic looking guitar, a burst Les Paul (assuming it's a '59 or '60), a vintage 50's Strat through (what looked like) Fender amps I couldn't ID.

Darryl Jones: 60's sunburst P Bass, some sore of semihollow bass, a Mustang Bass (red with stripe), white Lakland P Bass, silver signature Lakland 4 string, through an Ampeg 8x10 (not sure of amp)

I'll also go on the record and say the following: Although Mick and Keith get all of the fame, Ronnie, IMHO, is the backbone of that band. He's awesome.

You'll all probably get a good laugh out of this - I couldn't name one Stones song outside of the usual known ones. I was never a true fan.

I wasn't fortunate enough to score tickets, so I watched it on pay-per-view on my 100" (projected) screen.

Great show; all of them were 'on'; Ron Wood especially shone, as you mention. BTW, that 'futuristic' guitar he played is a Reverend. He also played a lap steel on Keith Richards' "Happy".

No love for Charlie?

Charlie is great. Seems super modest and I really appreciate that about a big time artist. His beats are so funny in that he avoids hitting the snare and hi hat at the same time at all costs. His upside down china cymbal used as a crash is really interesting. The drums sounded great.
