Roscoe Basses (not Fender)

never seen a Roscoe with a neck set like that.

Well I am a new Roscoe convert and have a pair of SKB3005's. After twenty years of searching I have found my sound ( I am a poet?!?!)

Seriously I have found these guitars to have a tone and feel unlike any other bass, with a huge pallet of sounds - all very useable.

I dealt with Gard at Roscoe and found them to be very helpful and informative.

I you are thinking of buying a high end bass, you could save some serious money and buy a Roscoe - they really do out perform alot of "Boutique" basses that are fabulous but offer nothing better than the Roscoe in the tone/build quality department ( in my opinion ).

I do believe that there is no "one" great bass for all - it is down to individual taste - it is important to try all options even in a music shop. However being a gigging musician I can honestly say that these basses work really well doing a great job of sitting in the mix cleanly.

Must be a trick of the lighting in the photography, because that is a standard bolt-on neck, no different from any other SKB 3005 that we'd make.

yep, i see it, it's the way the grain kinda takes a break in there, making it look like an different set.. or maybe it's just my old tired eyes...

Thanks for the comments - yes I have just picked up these guitars in the last three weeks - I purchased the Tiger Myrtle from a dealer in the UK and the Groove Shoppe sent me the Burl Maple one.

I have been a Warwick user for over ten years and have now made a complete switch to these Roscoe's - have just sold my Streamer Stage 11 five string last week.

These are really beautiful instruments and I can echo the comments of others and agree that they are amazing to look at - but the sound is even more impressive. I love the feel of the neck and they are very well balanced when playing.

I used the Burl Maple at a gig last night and it sounded fab! Big and clear bottom, that B is a killer, and nice tight funky mids and just enough top end sparkle to give it some presence.

One of the best tops i have ever seen!

That stands as my favorite 5 string to date. Lovely cocobolo top.

I think my next bass might be a 4 string roscoe... Wont happen for a year or so though.
