Wow Adrian, haven't seen that bass in almost a year! I forgot how stunning it is.

I'm also a Roscoe fan. Now I have to tell you, I have a reputation for going through basses like Liz Taylor goes through husbands. BUT, I have kept my Roscoe fretless through it ALL! (more than 3 years Adrian!!) That is one sweet bass! I also have a maple fretted Roscoe that I really love -- I have also had studio engineers comment on how they liked the tone of my Roscoe.

As Adrian said, you really can't get a Marcus Miller/Fendery tone from a Roscoe, but other than that, I see it fitting in any musical setting.

I've seen many pictures of that particular bass. I think it is the most beautiful guitar of any kind I've ever seen. Make, model, bass, guitar, you name it. It is just absolutely drop dead gorgeous.

And I've had a few people tell me that they thought my 3006 was the nicest they've ever seen. It's real nice, but it's not that one.

...that's a nice photo of that one!

;)

That's a madrone burl, we called it "The Brain" at the shop, because when we got the raw wood in, it LITERALLY looked like a slice of a giant brain! :D

That one turned out wonderfully, plays and sounds BETTER than it looks, very aggressive punchy tone, and just "like buttah" in your hands...the guys outdid themselves on that one!

Do you have any more pics of this 3005?

Joe, man, the pics you took of your bass and posted at the Roscoehead group are stunning - GREAT photography work!

:D

How does this sound for an "ad slogan": Functional Art, or Functional Sculpture?

...too "high brow"???? :hmm:

I just think the guys out in the shop do AMAZING stuff!!! :hyper:

Fawkes,
Definitely do what you can to check one out in person. I read alot of reviews on Roscoe basses and as good as the reviews are they pale in comparison to how these basses sound in person! :D I am buying my 3006 through Seaco Music in SC and had an opportunity this past summer to try out a Flamed Koa/Spanish Cedar LG3005 they have and I was just blown away by the sound and overall tonal flexability that this bass offered. It seriously took me just a few notes to know that I was purchasing a Roscoe! And after my shop visit/tour to pick out my options (one of the truly great things about living 1 hr from the shop) I surrendered and became an official "Roscoehead". Of course, if you order the truly hard part is waiting to get your hands on your bass, but Gard is great at dealing with updates/pics/progress...hell I bug him about once a week and don't think I've aggravated him yet! :hiding:

Shawn

Awww...man, are you guys pickin' on us???

:spit:

Really, Shawn's neck is in the batch that will START the final shaping/fretting/finishing process approximately at the beginning of the week of 12/12, and should be completed by the END of that week.

:D

...and JPJ, Cotta's and Bryan's are out either today or tomorrow...Bryan is going to totally trip on this bass!!! :)

John, your neck is at the same spot as Shawn's, so, that'll give you a good idea of "when"! :)

Akito is Bryan, that is the ebony bass...it will probably be shipped tomorrow, and there is no way I can take a photograph to reveal how utterly STUNNING it is....

...amazing looking bass!
