Roscoe Basses (not Fender)

Since I've only seen that thread now, after 3 pages, there's not much to add... I love my Roscoe LG3005 and not only because it's mine.
First because it feats me perfectly sitting or standing, I love that body shape very comfortable, just as comfortable as that crazy fast silky neck.
Secondly my bass is beautiful and yes it is important, I once had a bass that my band mates found "horrible" and they were so biased by its appearance that they had never realised that it sounded realy good.

And finaly and more importantly each time I plug it, a big smile rase on my face. It is the richer tone I've ever heard from any bass. The most pleasent to my ears too.
Gard knows that I had a few regrets on my preamp choice and would probably have been even more happy with a Demeter but even with that point, I still find my Roscoe to be the best bass I ever lay my hand on.

Haha not quite a loan shark :p

But being that alot of shops don't offer financing on gear and basses, i figure i'll give it a shot and try to facilitate more G.A.S. :D

I'm even thinking about opening up my own private dealer shop in philly :ninja:

Had the same thought here in Western PA! There's a bank that just left a strip mall with a great vault in it...right on the main highway too, right between Pittsburgh, Greensburg and Monroeville (30 minute drive from each).

Whaddya think? - "The Bass Vault: a safe haven for bassists"

I'd definately make a drive out there at least once a year to check out gear. Maybe even Tombowlus and the Ohio-ians would stop by too. All you need is Tom to visit once and the shop will be funded for months. :D

If we both open shops, PA will no longer suck for bass players

Side note: I'm over here working on getting some VERY raw soundclips done of my roscoe. So if anyone wants them PM me later and i can E-mail them to you. I don't know of a good (FREE) Mp3 hosting site so i can't just post them up. :(

I can say this without fear of spam because i am no longer a Roscoe dealer:
Roscoes are fantastic. BIG, BOLD tone - you gotta be careful, that low b is HUGE sounding. It's not your Fender tone, but very punchy and in your face, yet responsive if you use a light touch-
there are legions of Roscoe fans here at TB.
Personally, i love the fretless especially.. so much so that Gard has been receiving PM's from me.... ;)
here's a humble clip of a fretless skb5 i had in stock a couple of years back.. straight in, no added eq- i found it again recently , thus the PM's to Gard..

don't hate the player, love the tone

WOW! Myron are those Roscoes you're using on the clips on the daysahead website? All the songs on there sound great!

No. The tracks I played on there are on a Yamaha TRB6P. I did love that bass. But I love my Roscoe even better. The other guys on the clips are playing a Modulus and a Ken Smith. I love the Smith. But I can get that same tone out of my Roscoe.

I'm a big fan of yamaha basses too. :D

I know exactly what you mean about the smith. For some gospel gigs people want me to have that tone and i just dial it in and bam.

Cool band man. Best of luck with everything!
