Here's a shot of Akito's bass from last week, just before it was fretted. Now it's fretted, has all of the electronics and hardware on the body, and all that's left is for the nut to be cut & installed, then set it up - it SHOULD ship out today, Monday at the very latest!

Nice bass! That disc sander looks good too. I'm I not cool for not knowing what the 2+2 tatoo means?

I had some business come up that required a lot of travel, and computer issues on top of that. I should be back now, at least until xmas. I'm shocked this bass is done, but I do have some gigs coming up, so I'm looking forward to putting it through it's paces. Don't know why my inbox says full. I'll check that out.

Akito, it will ship Monday, just couldn't get it out today, and would rather it not sit in a warehouse over the weekend anyhow. It should be in Chicago at Jay's Wednesday or so, then on the way to you. This thing is just smokin'! (Keith put a bird's eye diamondwood nut on it! :eek: :cool: )

I own a Roscoe SKB sixer (spanish cedar body, killer flame maple top, and ebony board) and it's a fine instrument. The finish is beautiful (no cosmetic issues whatsoever) and neck and body are very comfortable and ergonomic. I can see why so many fusion and gospel players use Roscoes - the sound is so organic and supportive, and the B string is mighty. Plus, they're priced pretty reasonably for a boutique bass. I'd play it more, but deep down I'm a 5 string player and I go more for the Fender/Music Man vibe. I also wish the ebony board didn't shrink so much during the winter months (hence why maple is my current fingerboard favorite) - the extended fret ends are annoying...

You can take that to your favorite luthier to have them "nipped". There is a tool specifically designed to run along and nip them off.

Cool! the inlay looks really nice! Now if I can get the knobs finished the bass will be complete. Just have to pay for it now...

Gard and I have been gushing about your bass all week!!! I feel like a broken record, but your bass turned out even better than I had hoped. I LOOOOOVE how the ebony turned out once it received the finish....it almost looks like obsidian. :eek:

Well I am a new Roscoe convert and have a pair of SKB3005's. After twenty years of searching I have found my sound ( I am a poet?!?!)

Seriously I have found these guitars to have a tone and feel unlike any other bass, with a huge pallet of sounds - all very useable.

I dealt with Gard at Roscoe and found them to be very helpful and informative.

I you are thinking of buying a high end bass, you could save some serious money and buy a Roscoe - they really do out perform alot of "Boutique" basses that are fabulous but offer nothing better than the Roscoe in the tone/build quality department ( in my opinion ).

I do believe that there is no "one" great bass for all - it is down to individual taste - it is important to try all options even in a music shop. However being a gigging musician I can honestly say that these basses work really well doing a great job of sitting in the mix cleanly.
