I know. I'm trying. He said about 6 weeks. I waited about 7 and emailed to see how it was going.. He said maybe another 2 weeks or so. I waited about 3 and asked if it might be ready for my Christmas party gigs 12/3 and 12/8. He said that might be pretty tight. So, maybe by Christmas? I'm not going to bug him again for a couple weeks.

I’m just going to try to forget I placed an order so I’ll be surprised when he tells me it’s ready. This is not the only thing I buy with a significant wait time attached to it so I have built up somewhat of a tolerance for greatly delayed satisfaction.

Oh I will. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, I live within a reasonable driving distance to Greensboro and I’ll have a significant sized work project there in Jan/Feb. That’ll give me a good excuse to pay a visit or two to the shop.
The fact is that Keith’s basses are worth the wait. If one really has to scratch the itch while waiting, there is always the used market. But I’m also sympathetic to @SteveC situation where it’s not a full build, but rather a refin, and it’s still taking quite a few “two weeks” to get done.

I still understand. They have to “fit me in” between new builds. The fact that it’s my No. 1 bass makes it hard. If it we’re a new build I wouldn’t be “missing” it so much. I do have my LG3000 to help fill the void, and it’s a great bass, but I’m used to playing a 5, especially for my cover band gigs. Church isn’t as big a deal. I can make a 4 work more easily.

Yeah, I understand as I love my Century 5. This was a great trade I think, though, for that Sadowsky 4 string I had.

Roscoe “jazz” > Sadowsky jazz.

The LG has been my “main” bass for the last couple months. I just don’t know how much I’ll use it once I get my Century 5 back.

The NOS bodies and necks that exist are a product of speculative building and maybe a few canceled orders.
You’ll get your bass and it’ll be worth the wait.

I’m a bit shocked that nobody’s bought your Roscoe 4. That’s a great looking bass and even though there’s a lot of TB’ers in denial, there are far more players that only play 4 string basses (than 5 & 6 string basses). I only use my 5’s for certain songs at church these days. If I jam with local players all I need is a 4. If I didn’t already have 3 4 string basses I’d love to have it
Maybe advertise it outside of TB.

Thanks, Joe. It’s a special bass for sure. It was the last one I got from A.B.G. before Jim closed the doors.
It really sounds more amazing with the Nordstrand preamp installed.
Since the car accident last year, I’ve not been able to re-bond with these LG’s. I only play sitting down now and they don’t make for a comfortable sitting bass to play, and require too much effort for me to play them and keep them in a stable, comfortable playing position, since the body is small with a thin waist.
I might try attaching a piece of something on the back to give it just a little more girth that might aid me.
