Roscoe Club

Fantastic top!

I have a Century 5 Signature on it's way :hyper:

Just curious...what is everyone using for a rig with their Roscoe? I see a bunch of Aggie TH stuff and I know Ken is using a Glock. Is there a particular amp that just matches up really well with them? I've got some choices to try out...GK, Mesa, and Ampeg. All through a Bergantino CN212 or AE212.

I'm thinking I'll be very happy with my Prodigy or GK stuff.

I wanted to like the TH stuff but I was put off by the voicing. Lots of people like it, but I wasn't sure it was going to match what I wanted, which was clean, clear, and flat. (Today, I'd be tempted by the Glockenklang but I didn't know about them a year ago...)

So I went with Hartke LH-1000 into a GK 412 Neo. I believe I'm set for a good long time. But if I needed a backup, it'd probably be a GK of some sort...

If I had any idea of what flavor of music I'll wind up settling on, I might not be so fixated on 'no built-in tone' (yes, I know, they -all- have a built-in tone...). I've got a couple of pedals for different tone shaping, and if I decide I really like the TH flavor, they make a pedal for that. If you decide you -don't- like it, there's no pedal to get it out...

Because no pics, no bass I'm posting this quick and dirty one. I picked it up yesterday from the Atlanta Bass Gallery on my way to work and I was working non-stop until late last night. So, I didn't get a chance to take better pictures but, when I get a chance I'll get some with the jet.

Tone? Yeah, it's got it for days. I've been playing it nonstop in my hotel room and loving it. It's kinda got a Warwick vibe to it I guess.

I'm calling it the FLUF Bass (Fat Little Ugly er, um, Fella).

GB Shuttle 9.0 into an array of various pedals into a Bergantino NV425. I'm really happy with the sound I get through that little GB head, but I can feel an onset of GAS for the Mesa Prodigy Four:88. I've never had an all-tube head to play through, and that particular head seems like a good choice in power/weight ratio

Currently any of the following:

Ampeg V-4B Reissue
Ampeg PF500
Ampeg SVT210AV cabs (2)
Aguilar SL112 cabs (2)

Used to have the TH500 and liked the PF500 just a hair better though both are pretty similar to my ears. Love the V-4B with the Roscoe...or with any other bass I've tried with it.
