Roscoe Club

Ain't that the truth!

Hopefully someone will want my 6 when I post it for sale. I've done a lot of thinking and gotten a lot of sage advice and I think after 3 tries I am just gonna say it isn't for me. I love Roscoe 5 string basses. They feel like home, they work for my current (and really any foreseeable) gigs and sound amazing.

You guys have been busy posting in this thread while I finished my drive to Charlotte for the night. Gard should be posting a photo shortly of his MM equipped CS5 and my Century Custom 5 MM which got some attention from Keith today while I was in.

I have to say, these guys go above and beyond when it comes to service and hospitality. Keith took care of some stuff on my bass and fixed a broken pot while he was in there even though it's not what it was for. All this while Gard had us out for a fantastic lunch.

Many thanks as always. This is one of the reasons I have owned 8+ Roscoes, with 3 currently and plans/desires for more as always.

Calling Chuck Moses.... a better family pic fitting of such a handsome bunch.

...ahhhh, Scott, you have fooled everyone into thinking you're getting that one...it's sold, but not to Scott (Armybass), it's going to the great state of Alaska, not staying in Virginia. ;)

We do need to get him a 6 string RMLE though, don't we, Greg.

:ninja:

I wasnt trying to say it was mine... just that is was gorgeous! Geesh..... :eyebrow:

:D

Jon, that bass is hypnotizing to me! I would love to play it.

I think we need another Roscoe GTG so we can all jam, play incredible basses and drink Sexual Chocolate. Mmmmmmm, sexual......mmmm

:ninja:

....discussions are being had....there is the big Aguilar/Roscoe Haslip clinic up in NYC in a little over a week (who's coming out for that??!?!?!?!), and Jimmy has already put forth his interest in repeating the hang here at Roscoe World Headquarters again soon...keep your eyes open Roscoeheads! :bassist:;)

First I've heard of the NYC event so I'm sure there's no hope of my making that. What mailing list would I have had to be on hear about these events? I'm on a least a dozen but clearly it's not enough... (Link, please? NYC is close enough to be a day trip but too expensive to stay over...)

NC is definitely far enough to require advance planning. I could arrange it, but I can't just drop everything and head out...

I would suggest two Facebook pages:

I have been VERY remiss in putting this up on the Roscoeheads page, but will fix that NOW.

I really can't promote this stuff here, due to the CUP....but maybe someone else can...

:ninja:

;)

If you can find a way to get to the NYC hang, I'll buy you a beer afterward!

:hyper:

Call me stodgy, but I just don't do FaceBook.
I've bookmarked the page but I'd need a way better incentive to actually join.
I understand the CUP issues and I appreciate the fine line you must tread...

I did check out that event.
So near and yet so far.
Weeknight events are tough for the working folk...
Leave early from work, 2 hr drive, deal with NYC traffic and parking, attend event, 2 hr drive home after...
It would be fun but I don't think I'm up for the cost.

Totally understand on both points.

The FB situation was an economic decision - it's essentially free for us to promote ourselves ad nauseum there, and the "viral" aspects of it are too powerful to ignore.

On the "school night" aspect of the clinic, I REALLY get that! If it wasn't my job, I probably wouldn't be hitting that either. ;) The shop hang will be a weekend, and will be at least a 6 week or longer head's up, so it will be easier for folks to plan for it. Also, Greensboro is a lot less expensive a place to hang than NYC is! :D

I do not doubt its usefulness.

If I had 'something' to promote - like a business or a band, I can see its use. But I don't really have either, although I do have a website for the airbrush stuff. I'm OK that it doesn't get more traffic because I couldn't deal with a big influx of intererst just now. So it's sort of a placeholder.

Or if I had a large family. But I don't.
