Well.....I think a high gloss finish gives you glassy-shimmering highs that you can't get with an oil or satin finish....

Oh, and I should address the back of headstock lamination on this most recent 6-string. That is NOT a standard feature of the RMLE basses. There was either a booger in the maple on the back of the headstock or the headstock was originally milled too thin by mistake. The rear lamination was a simple & elegant solution to the problem, but it won't be done on other RMLE's.
