Roscoe Club

We have a dehumidifier installed. It keeps the house somewhere between 35-45% most of the time. A little more dry in the winter with gas heat and a little more moist in the summer because it’s the south and there’s just no fighting it at some point. I’ve not noticed any issues with fret sprout or needing to make frequent truss rod adjustments.

So it was just plek'd about 3 years ago?

I remember when I had my Fender plek'd after 13 years of play.
I had transitioned from a Donkey Kong gripped player before pleking, to one with a lighter touch, and the action/playability has remained excellent in the 10 years since it's been plek'd.

My, completely unsolicited advice, is if it already played great before you sent it off, then save yourself the time and money, and just get it back into your hands, and in rotation.

I'm guessing that is what will happen, but I will leave it up to Keith. It's been gone so long now, another "2 weeks" won't matter. When I get it back, it'll be amazing and probably stay with me until it gets passed on to my son. He already helps himself to my Classic P bass. At age 13 he already has good taste.

I would love have a J/MM Roscoe. Century Standard Plus is right up my alley. I've had a few. I loved that pickup combo when I played Laklands. Just don't have the cash. $1K for the car repair. $1K for the tree removal. It never ends.

Yeah they went out of business a few years ago (it was the guys from Regenerate basses) and their pickups were fantastic, maybe the best I've heard. My Roscoe Classic P/J has them.

Well I’ve reduced my Roscoe number down to 5 with one on the way. I’d really like to get down to 4 max but that’s gonna be hard. However with each one I part with, it becomes easier to see myself parting with the next one. With the flow of new Roscoes flowing reduced to a trickle, the used market seems to have warmed up a good bit. I know I’ll regret not hoarding my gaggle in the future, but these beauties need to be played and you can only play one at a time.

I've still never sold a bass, so my collection is definitely out of hand. Once I finally sell the first one and get over the hurdle of the logistics, I'll probably sell about half of them. But I'm in no hurry. Since they do gradually appreciate in value, it might make sense for me to just wait until I'm retired to start selling.
