Roscoe Club

It's beautiful, Steve. If it were mine, I'd probably leave it just like it is. The color is so warm , with just the right amount of glow. On the other hand, you've been so happy with the new Koa finish. No wrong choices in this instance.
Yeah, it does have a certain look and feel as is. It was not that dark and rich when I first got it years ago.
I'm guessing $750+ to get a gloss finish on it, shipped both ways. That's a lot of money. While the Koa looks fabulous and I'm glad I did it, I'm not in a hurry to spend that kind of cash these days. It's kind of sad people don't get to see some of the amazing bodies that go with the tops.

Well you guys know that I enjoy upgrading the plastic covers on the rear of my Roscoes with wood covers but I’m having trouble keeping these on my Root Beer Roscoe.
I thought that wenge covers would tie in well with the wenge wedge neck but I’m having trouble adjusting to the wenge grain against the root beer stain of the body.
What do you guys think? Leave them on or TAKE them off now!

I totally agree. Those Wenge covers are horrible. Completely out of place.

Why don't I just come by and pick those up and take them away so you're not tempted to use them any longer.

I wanted to make magnetic purple heart covers for the battery cavity and control cavity to match the center of the neck on my Roscoe, but I couldn't find purple heart that was aged to the brick red color of the wood in my Roscoe. I tried roasting purple heart, but it did not have the desired outcome. I ended-up making black plastic magnetic covers instead.

Well, one can always hypothesize wood and other specs, right? (Or wrong) Here goes:

LG 3005 model
2008ish vintage (no volute, no scarf)
Mahogany body
Myrtle top
Maple neck, Cherry stringers, spalted Purpleheart center strip
Birdseye Maple fingerboard
Maple headstock overlay
