Roscoe Club

My shoulder finally healed up and I got a chance to gig the new solid ash Roscoe out. The wenge wedge neck coupled with the solid ash body certainly produced some serious growl!
He’s a couple videos from that service. I tuned the low B down to Bb for Nailed Scarred Hands. It’s got some serious lows!

Excellent, in every way!

I've really been loving the P bass the last year or so. But when I play my Century 5, I remember why it's the bass that has lasted the longest in my possession - over 13 years now. I played all kinds of fills and such on Saturday that cause our singer to give me multiple looks of "what was that" and "nice". That bass is just inspiring to play. I hardly think when I play it. The "plays itself" comment is much used, but, in this case, I don't know what else to say. There's a nice LG3000 on Reverb that I'd love to have, but I just can't justify it right now. I liked the one I tried a while ago, but I wasn't really playing much 4 string at that time. I do play a lot of 4 these days, but the new freezer, tires for the car, things like that, as well as the overall uncertainty these days makes a $2K purchase a little tough.

My playing situation has changed recently to CCW music (but not as part of a church P&W team) and as I go through the stable looking for the right instrument(s), I continue to land on the Roscoes and the Warwick Corvette $$ (which surprised me). The Century 5 J/MM with EB Cobalt Flats in particular seems to slot quite well with a lot of the songs. That Warwick growl fits pretty nicely too though…
