Thanks Anthony. No, still will mostly gig the P, but fun to have this in the stable. This one just really caught my eye, and I've never owned a Roscoe before. Very different beast. I know you dig the Peavey Cirrus, and this bass is in that 'tone/feel' universe. Very burpy and articulate with LOTS of low mid meat, relatively tight string spacing, very 'flat' neck profile, 35" scale, with that big soap bar pickup tone.
I continue to be very impressed with the fit and finish and woodwork. The AAAA (or however many A's... it is very figured) flame maple top wood is virtually half the body thickness, and the birdseye maple board is also thicker than most.
The detail of that wenge wedge neck is amazing (the wedge design keeps the wenge stringer size the same through the length of the neck, while the maple core gets wider to match the neck width increase as you move toward the bridge). Beautiful volute ( think that is what it is called... the extra wood thickness at the 'pressure point' where the headstock starts)for extra strength, and that fancy asymmetrical nut (I think bone or some sort of ivory type material, not sure).
Beautiful detail through the entire instrument. EVERY bit the quality and craftsmanship of my previously owned MTD's and Fodera. Very impressive for the price (actually, at any price).
