I love it Gard! It has a really nice traditional look but looks very classy at the same time. Love the flame top and light shim.

..... and as hard as it is fro me to say this, the satin chrome hardware looks really nice on this one!

No "shim", just a pinstripe - they stain the body yellow (the beginning of a Tobacco Sunburst). Keith uses a thin auto pinstripe tape to create a line by putting it around the body where the stripe should be, then he does the "burst" (in this case a red followed by a slightly smaller black area), then pulls the tape back off, revealing the yellow pinstripe around the body.

And Joe, yes, this particular bass SCREAMED for the chrome hardware.

That thing just kills with the Aguilar PJ setup, AMAZING flame maple top (and slightly flamed neck centre), the pinstripe on the body, and yes even the chrome hardware.

Smith makes some nice basses but after playing and hearing the Roscoe I don't think that you'll miss the Smith!

Joe, as I mentioned, it was my backup and it sat in the closet. I could never get the sound I wanted out of it, so I never played it. I can't wait for the Roscoe. Another Southern Bass (my main bass is a Warrior, see pic).

I'm really looking forward to getting it. VERY different from me! Change is fun sometimes. That being said, it was the trans orange that got me Strange, but I just love that finish, and you don't see it very often.
