Yes I am well aware (both because you've said so before and I've measured)
And just how big is yours?
I agree in general, which is why I think what you do for the existing line of Roscoe basses makes perfect sense with 34" being a custom option on a 5 or 6 if someone wishes. For a more "authentic" take on a P, PJ, or JJ bass 34" makes the most sense (heck I don't even know if you'd need to offer this hypothetical new model in anything other than 4 string considering we can already order any Roscoe with those pickup options in 4, 5, and 6 string).
I waffle, I understand that there is a "sound" with 34" versus 35" on the higher strings, and that 34" is more "appropriate" for the more vintage tones, but I also have a mindset that a 5 string is NOT a "vintage" thing - it's a modern thing approximating a vintage thing in this application. There will be a 5 string version - mainly because this is planned as a low-cost model, and we want to have something available in a lower price range for 4 and 5 string basses.
Again, this is all theoretical spitballing at this point, nothing is going to HAPPEN anytime soon, but we're thinking.....oh yes, we're thinking....and you know what happens when we do that, right?
Right?
...no?
Darn, I was hoping someone'd tell me.
